Super Mailbox

So I have been hating my normal mailbox long enough, with a little help from some friends we pulled out the old mailbox, dug a big hole and built this new one in my front yard. This baby is fully loaded with 2 mailboxes, newspaper, and weekly shopper boxes all built in, a hand laid field stone base and shingles on top. I have to finish painting it but need the weather to cooperate a little to finish it up right now its to hot and humid to paint, hopefully in the next few days I will find time and weather lining up.

Click to Play!

Recently I found this cool game on my friends website... I used to play a version of this on my calculator at school to pass the time and now have become re-addicted to it.

The Last several weeks have seen many people come and go around here, we had a full house for Cherry Festival, and a great time.

My friend and I recently started / put together a company building and hosting websites together if you are interested have a look see and let me know how you like the site. www.wildcherryhosting.com I have also been expanding my furniture company and will begin an add campaign around the Traverse City area shortly. www.midwesternfurniture.com

The family is all coming to spend the week here next week so I am getting the house ready for them and finding things to do. We are going to set up a treasure hunt on power island in the west arm of grand traverse bay. If you and your family would like to come up and have a pirate adventure let me know and we can set one up for you.

So I have been really busy...

Ok ok... I got the new boat and have had several people up visiting since then along with a whole group of guys that road their pedal bikes all the way from Grand Rapids, MI to here (160 miles) stayed for a day and then I road back with them for the fun of it (Ouch - bike seats hurt after a while) what an absolute blast. Here is the promised picture of the new boat.
I will post some pictures of the bike trip shortly. Next week we have several more people coming to visit for Cherry Festival here in Traverse City.

Boat Shopping

Yup that is what I am talking about... My wife and I went shopping for boats over the past couple of weeks and bought a second boat a Sea Ray 270 aft cabin cruiser. So now if you decide to come for a visit there is a tough decision, weather to go water skiing on the little boat or cruising on the big boat... ok maybe it isnt that tough to decide... Anyways it will be delivered on this Thursday the 8th of June and I will post some pictures of it then.

For those of you wondering why I havent posted recently I have been out playing on the water and left town for several days to see my little brothers graduate from high school. They will be biking with some friends later this month to visit me here all the way from Grand Rapids, crazy kids.... Several friends of mine came up 2 weekends ago and we got the 20 footer running and went for a day of cruising on Lake Leelanau. Visited fish town in Leeland and had a great time hanging out. Hope that you can make it someday to see this wonderfull area.

Pioneers were really tough people.

This weekend my neighbor came over and helped me cut down 2 huge pine trees in my front yard, and then he left me to cut them up and dispose of them. Look at the size of these babies 2 storys tall when laying on their side, can you imagine having to deal with them. I spent several days with a chainsaw and a bonfire cutting and burning these trees untill there is nothing left but a huge pile of ashes. The whole time all I can think about is our pioneering fore fathers did this with hand tools to build a house and farm fields, were they crazy or what. The final pic is after one whole day of work.
